History

Caritas Services Limited was founded in 2007.  In over 10 years of service, we continue to embrace the challenges and successes of providing good facilities, activities and opportunities for individuals in our care. The mission of our service is to achieve the best outcome and care experience for everyone we support, whether it is respite care, a short term or long-term placement.

Our first home, Dent House in Matlock, Derbyshire opened in 2007.  The property was fully refurbished and equipped prior to registration. Registration for residential and nursing care for 10 service users was granted later that year.  We opened our doors to our first service user shortly afterwards.

After the success of Dent House, Caritas acquired Jackson House, Styal, Cheshire in April 2010.  Jackson House was already registered to provide residential and nursing care for four service users. Located in a quiet and rural village setting, Jackson House offers short to mid-term placements, and has accommodated several service users over the years.  Some of whom have been able to move on to Supported Living tenancies following their achievements.

Abbeyfield House, in Gatley, Stockport was our third acquisition in December 2010.  Already a care home the property required significant renovation work to make it suitable for our needs.  Abbeyfield house is registered to provide residential and nursing care for 7 service users.

Our most recent project was Northenden House, Northenden, Sale. This is a purpose-built care home offering Nursing and Residential Care and Support to six service users. Northenden House opened in 2018.

As we continue to grow, we are planning to provide additional care services.  This will include alternatives to traditional care home settings, such as supported living, care support packages at home, as well as new residential care and specialist mental health care homes.   Our experience in the industry and successes so far, put us in a good position to address the current need for specialist adult care increasingly required in our communities.
